I know what you're thinking... "Cali water?? Aren't we in a drought? Why are you telling people to drink our water!?"
I'm not talking about THAT Cali water... what I'm talking about is a drink that is so good (and so good for you) I literally drank my entire 30 pack from amazon before I had a chance to take a picture!
OK, I got one picture. But to celebrate this amazing drink I needed more than one picture. So in this review I'm using a collection of my favorite desert memories to celebrate the desert blessing that is Cali Water
What is Cali Water? It's actually cactus water or a "plant based water powered by the Prickly Pear Cactus super fruit". Amazon graciously recommended this drink to me and when I saw that it had Prickly Pear fruit in it, I was immediately hooked. The prickly pear fruit has a very distinct maroon/pink color (see above). While it's prickly on the outside it has a soft edible fruit on the inside. My desert friends and I have mainly used the fruit to enhance our pool side margaritas. The inside of the fruit looks and feels almost like a pomegranate. It also tastes like a pomegranate and raspberries were mixed together (aka killer margaritas and water).
Prickly Pear fruit is an amazing super food. It's packed with antioxidants (great for a detox), it hydrates your body (reduces premature aging), and it tastes amazing! I drank Cali Water after workouts to hydrate my body and the morning after late night adventures (it eliminates under-eye puffiness and helps cure hangovers!). My skin looked clearer, my post run inflammation went down, and my tastebuds were celebrating!
I've never been a big fan of coconut water (unless it's straight out of a coconut) or aloe water (chunky texture? bleh) but I'm 100% hooked on Cali Water. The drink also has fewer calories and sugar than your average Coconut and Aloe waters. The ingredients are 100% natural (which I love), Vegan, and simple. Just water and pureed prickly pear fruit (not from concentrate).
Check out their website for more information here and follow them on instagram @drinkcaliwater to enter their current giveaway! I'm also excited to announce that they will have a booth at the Abbot Kinney Festival this Sunday!! (That's in my backyard!). I'll definitely be stopping by to say hello... and drink some Cali Water.
