Winter may be coming in GOT but Fall is coming in Cali, which means a slew of new trends to try out from the recent shows. I've already been sporting one trend since this Spring when nostalgia hit me on a road trip: Pins and Patches.
We were in a run down gas station in Big Sur when I noticed a bowl of patches. As a kid my mom would always iron on a smiley face, rainbow, or ying yang onto my jeans when I wore through the knees or ripped them while climbing a tree. I had no need to use patches as an adult but had the urge to collect one on every road trip.
A week later my (almost) blank canvas from Understated Leather arrived...
Each pin or patch has some sort of story behind it. I've been adding to it steadily since March and can't wait to see it totally covered. Ninetails was/is my favorite Pokemon so when I saw this Vulpix patch I HAD to have it. I added these little pins of Dratini and Charmander after finding them at a food truck event. I now have my three favorite Pokemon "families" represented on my jacket! The Grand Canyon Patch is from my STILL favorite trip with S so far.
The Disney pins are from my time working at Disney (I have SO MANY DISNEY PINS still).
California Bear patch is from that gas station in Big Sur!
Futurama is my favorite TV show
My time portal key because my childhood nickname was Chibbi Moon.
I found that patch on Dolls Kill who have an amazing collection to choose from!
So many stories... for now I'm going to keep some for myself.
