While the runway has played favor to the 60s, street styles have all turned towards the 70s. Big shag rug coats? Check. Crochet bikinis, monokinis, and cup holders? Check. Pink, orange, and brown hues? Check check check.
Yup. It's official. The 70s have taken over Fall fashion this year. The build up towards the 70s has been going on all year. Slowly, vintage lace and rose hued sunglasses started popping up again. Orange made way to much of a comeback on swimwear and chevron patterned jumpsuits alike. Even social media accounts changed from "rosey" to "wanderlust gypsy" (you didn't think you were the only one with that in their instagram description, did you?).

While the 70s wasn't a time of the most flattering cuts, we're lucky enough that when we revisit a decade, we can now iron out all of the "wrinkles". Designers are taking inspiration from the decade, but are paying more attention to how the clothes sit on your frame. Maxi dresses are still skimming the floor but they now have a tighter fit on top for a more flattering shape. Bell bottoms are back as well, but now come in a variety of fabrics that flatter your tummy rather than cling to all the wrong places.
If you're looking for a quick way to get inspired for the 70s trends you won't be able to escape, check out the new Stoned Immaculate Vintage look book "Dazed and Amused". The look book transports you back into a 70s Palm Springs dream of flower lace tops, silk headbands, and mai tai's in the pool.
