After spending some time reading Grim Fairytales and hanging around in our hammocks, we left Tonto National forest to an even more secluded spot: A private cabin in Kaibab State Forest. Since Tonto is so large, we were able to drive through gorgeous forests the entire way to Kaibab. Half way through we made an unplanned stop at THAT brewery. If you ever find yourself cruising along the 87 through Tonto, make the stop. Their Snow Miser Spiced IPA is to die for (Well... at least for this bitter drink lover. The bitterness level is 72 so be ready) as well as their Arizona Trail Ale. After the brewery... we continued on, through controlled forest fires, dried up lakes, and Mormon campsites (not quite sure what that means still). We finally arrived at Kaibab State Park around 5pm.
After breaking into the growler, S and I started to discuss future travel plans (Malibu? Hawaii? The Sierras? Montana?). Inspired by maps and our Arizona trip so far, I choose to change into my new LINE atlas two piece. Read more to see pictures from our first night in the cabin (which we later found out was haunted... more on that later).
