Mickey Ears are, without a doubt, the ultimate Disneyland accessory.
The Disneyland Resort offers a variety of ears for guests to purchase... Classic Mickey and Minnie ears, Toy Story themed ears, mermaid themed ears, even ears inspired by rides like the Haunted Mansion and The Disneyland Railroad. When you first walk into a Disneyland shop, the choices of ears seems never ending.
At lease they seem never ending... until you start walking around the park. That's when you'll notice 20+ guests with the same ears as you wandering through the crowds. After all there are between 10 to 70 THOUSANDS of guests visiting Disneyland every day! (Even more during the holidays!)
Thankfully, artists have begun selling their own hand made Mickey Ears on websites like Etsy.com. I went on a search for the most unique and premium looking ears for weeks before I stumbled on this pair by artist "This Dysfunctional Love".
Inspired by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, these ears are perfectly poofy with the fluffiest bow I've ever seen (unlike all the other handmade ears on Etsy that lack any dimension and have flimsy, weak ears)! These ears were not only based on my favorite disney character but also matched up with the Holiday version of the Haunted Mansion as well!
"This Dysfunctional Love" specializes in The Nightmare Before Christmas themed ears, but that doesn't stop her from creating numerous custom ears of all our favorite characters including Snow White & The Evil Queen, the entire Toy Story crew, and even BB8 ears! Check out her gallery of adorable ears here and shop them on etsy here!
Zero and I approve... xo
*Apologies for the low quality shots. Cast Members kept ushering us to keep moving and my Canon needs time for night shots!
Inside the snow covered graveyard!
Did you know that you actually "die" on the ride? After cruising through the attic your doom buggy will lean WAY back, simulating you fall to ...um... your death. That's why the grave keeper is shaking when you pass him, you're now a ghost! This is also how your able to see the ghosts in the graveyard (you can only see the ghosts in the ballroom because Madame Leota called them together for you!). The holiday version of the ride leaves out this little death scene from the story, and instead gives you a lovely view of the Vampire Teddy Bear gnawing some christmas lights.
Don't forget to bring a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Main Street! Jack is the Pumpkin King after all...
