Do you ever have a week that's just SO terribly awful that you just have to get away? Yeah, that was me last Friday. Monday through Friday, I just couldn't catch a break. On Friday, S and I decided to take a relaxing weekend trip to Shaver Lake, CA. We left after 7pm (Obama was in town so all the freeways were shut down for a bit) and arrived after midnight. The drive was calming and spectacular… exactly what I needed.
I've been wearing summer clothes around Venice already but was happy to dress a lil' warmer up in Shaver. I experimented with a new Spring trend I like to call "traveling gypsy". The trend is extremely easy to pull off. All you need is some sensible layers, messy hair, and hiking boots. Oh, and by sensible layers I mean for the weather. Your patterns can completely clash this spring if you feel like it. In fact, it's encouraged.

Sweatshirt: Wildfox Mosque Tile Campfire Sweatshirt
Pants: Banana Republic Skinny Jean (for Petites!)
Hiking boots: Ahnu Montara Boot
I'm not completely on board with the clashing patterns trend, but I am a huge fan of wearing your hiking boots whenever you want!
Till next time,
