To celebrate the anniversary of our engagement, we took a trip to Palm Springs and stayed at our favorite hotel: The Saguaro. Our drive from LA to Palm Springs is usually upbeat and cheery, but this time it took an eiry turn when we got closer to those famous windmills...
Before checking into our hotel we toured Elvis' Honeymoon hideaway! This is the house that Elvis and Priscilla were originally planning on getting married at and the one that they eventually stayed in for their honeymoon. While I'm not the biggest Elvis fan I was drawn to the tour because of it's 60's vibe and Palm Springs astetics. The tour was cheesy in my opinion (although a lot of die hard fans we're loving it) but I got exactly what I was looking for: the perfect start to a Palm Springs Weekend. Well... minus the ash raining down on us from the nearby fires.
It turns out that this house was also the location of the For Love and Lemons High Summer 2018 campaign! I honestly had NO idea at the time, and just now figured it out while going through their website finding links for you guys. In this post you'll see two different For Love and Lemons outfits that I wore on the first day of our trip. I'm still surprised I didn't notice the campaign was shot at the Honeymoon Hideaway when I was making mood boards for this trip.
While on the tour I learned that I wasn't a fan of Elvis, but instead a fan of Robert and Helene Alexander; the couple who designed this Palm Springs 60's dream house. You can book your own tour by clicking here.
First outfit: Magnolia Mini Dress
Purse from a leather shop in Siena Italy!
The Saguaro hotel is one of our favorite hotels and it's where S proposed to me last year! We arrived on a Thursday this trip which meant Taco Thursday at El Jefe, the restaurant at The Saguaro. Yup, they do Taco Tuesday AND Thursday. The decision proved to be an especially good one when the sky started raining ash on us again. The temperature was also already at about 118 degrees Fahrenheit but felt hotter with the fire raging nearby. We were EXTREMELY happy to stay in the air conditioned hotel.
We got the green and purple corner suite, aka the Joker suite.
Valentinia Lace Mini Dress and the Claudia Tulle Blouse ,both from For Love and Lemons
S got me a flower crown when he proposed to me last year and again this year! He even had the artist match the colors to my pool party outfit! Both crowns were from The David Rohr Floral Studio.
