I usually spend most of my summer vacations at home, filling up the days with stay cations. Everyday at home turned into a day of daydreaming of travel: where would I go next, what will I do, what will I wear? I was never fully present within my own home. This year though, I've spent my summer driving or flying up and down California to attend other's weddings and to prep for my own! On average, I've been home for about two days a week. And man, home has never felt better.
I’m definitely present when I’m home this summer. More art has gone up on the walls thanks to that, and my apt is way cleaner than last year. Taking the time to really care for my home has resulted in a more organized, semi-de-cluttered living space.
We're lucky enough to live near the La Brea tar pits and LACMA (you know, those lamps everyone takes a picture with on instagram). Sunset walks around the tar pits and the museum have become a daily ritual for me when I’m at home, along with walks to yuko or Mixt Greens for lunch.
