Whenever I travel somewhere, I make it a priority to wake up and watch the sunrise during my first morning there. Since most of my weekend adventures involve driving to the location after work on a Friday, I tend to get in late. The drive tends to be stressful (leaving LA in rush hour), so waking up at sunset serves as a sort of "refresh" button. New location, new scenery, new mood.
San Miguel offered multiple opportunities to refresh... The first two pictures were taken just outside of the trailer I camped in last weekend. A short walk down one hill gave me another opportunity to watch the sun break over the horizon, and another if I choose to continue walking downward.
Morning rattlesnake check.
Despite everyone predicting this year to have heavy rains, the hills are still completely dry. I'm looking forward to Spring when this exact hill is covered in lush green grass and neon orange California Poppies.
Same day... 13 hours later...
"Come out and play human!"
G and I had to stop enjoying the sunset to get ready for dinner, but KC and Jackee continued to enjoy the pink and orange hues.
