I gave S a piece of his bday present early. Like, four months early... whoops. We're both bad at keeping presents secret until the actual holiday/birthday but this year I gave him part of his present way early because I got us both Disney annual passes and we had plans to go to Disneyland in August and September. There was no WAY I was going to spend more money on day passes when I already had those annual passes tucked away in my bookshelf! So expect to see more Disney action back on kkantoinette, including some tips on where to shop!
Believe it or not, Disneyland offers some fantastic non-disney shopping. From vintage looking pendleton's to the latest So Cal styles; non-disney gems can be found scattered throughout both parks. See my four favorite places to shop at Disneyland and the non-disney items they offer below!
Humphries in Disney's California Adventure
This is hands down my favorite place to shop at the Disneyland Resort. Humphries is located in near Grizzly River run and is "Natural Park" themed like the rest of the surrounding area. This store offers vintage inspired national park gear, like John Muir themed magnets, adorable socks made for hiking the Sierra mountains, patches, and Smokey the Bear EVERYTHING. You can even shop for baby pine trees. Yes, actual trees. This place is fantastic.
Ramon's House of Body Art in Disney's California Adventure
This was the first shop that S and I stumbled upon with non-disney items (we freaked). Ramones' is ... as you probably already guessed... located in cars land. While the majority of the store IS Disney Cars themed, in the very back are several different pendletons!! And the best part? If you have an annual pass the shirts end up being CHEAPER than if you bought them outside of the park!? Ramones also offers adorable "Dino Co oil" shirts which are from the movie Cars but are less in your face than a "Ca CHOW" tee (also who doesn't love adorable dinos?)
**The pendletons are seasonal and not always available, making this store more of a hit or miss for non-disney items**
Adventureland Bazaar in Disneyland
I'm just going to go ahead and call this shop a gold mine for those looking for non-disney items. From safari inspired interior design decor to brands like Vans, Billabong, and Roxy, the Bazaar is jam packed with non-Disney items. If you're visiting from out of town and didn't pack for the Cali weather this is your place. If you've been to Disneyland a thousand times and are bored of seeing the same items, this is also your place. The clothes in the Bazaar change seasonally similarly to any local So Cal boutique.
The best part about this shop? Because the Adventure land walkway is tight and curves (this was done on purpose so you can't tell whats coming up, aka "an Adventure around every corner"), most guests walk straight past this shop leaving it almost empty all the time. It's also the largest shops in that area of the park and a great space to duck into if you're feeling claustrophobic in the always crowded Adventure land.
The Pioneer Mercantile in Disneyland
Similar to Ramone's, this shop offers non-disney items seasonally. In the past, it's been a boho lovers dream, full of maxi dresses, desert inspired tops and jackets. In fact sometimes the store is ONLY non-disney items. When I went in recently I was disapointed by the lack of non-Disney items but I'm guessing that they pack it with disney stuff during the busy months. I'm going back towards the end of September and will update this post if they've switched back to non-disney items, but for now enjoy the flag inspired stair case and owl themed clothes...
